Dear colleagues and friends
You are here all together to attend this conference with its enriching and empowering program.
The reason is that, You, perioperative nurse, are aware of the importance of such events to update and enhance perioperative nursing care.
Education is the key to enhancing perioperative patient care.
Trust, confidence and pride are the feelings of every Nurse who works in theaters, every perioperative Nurse who has every day in mind for this mission, the best quality of care to be offered to the patients.
Be proud to be a perioperative Nurse
Your role is essential today and will be even more tomorrow with the technical evolution of operating theaters. Your role is predominant. The current evolution in practices and procedures in the field of perioperative care cannot be done without trained and very competent persons as you, perioperative nurses, are.
Thanks to your skills, experience and profound knowledge in the perioperative area, you provide the best and safer perioperative care to the patient.
We can also consider that the work in the central sterilization department as a perioperative care, because the correct reprocessing of instrument trays and medical devices is part of the care administered to the person undergoing surgery.
Perioperative nurses are the key part, with a central role within the multi-disciplinary surgical team, collaborating, communicating together and searching for best practice and excellence.
This Congress will contribute considerably to that process. I hope you enjoy it and return to work with full of new ideas on which you can build even better perioperative nursing care for tomorrow and develop many collaborative networks.
Knowledge and expertise are also to be shared for improvement and excellence within the perioperative setting. Dear colleagues, please do not miss the opportunity to share your knowledge with the members of your team in Greece and beyond.
Do even more, write articles about what you have learnt during this congress. Oral transmission will attend the few persons around you. But written articles can be read by many more persons.
